MANILA – “Dream Dad” leading lady Beauty Gonzalez, whose inspiring weight loss made headlines last year, openly talked about further physical changes she hopes to achieve through cosmetic surgery.

Gonzalez on Tuesday sought the help of celebrity dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo, whose line of clinics the actress now endorses.

Taking a cue from Gonzalez’s concerns, Belo suggested a number of procedures, including the removal of stubborn fat on her arms through laser liposuction.

Gonzalez also underwent procedures to reduce fat around her chin and jawline, to have a more defined chin, and to treat facial acne due to stress and long hours of taping.

According to 23-year-old actress, she will debut her makeover in a magazine shoot.

Do you want to lose weight?

Laser treatment is becoming increasingly popular as an effective, non-invasive way to see dramatic cosmetic results. But many people may ask themselves, “Is laser treatment painful?” The sensations vary depending upon the procedure, the technology used and the wavelengths and energy settings. Many procedures are completely painless, all are tolerable. At Shino Bay Cosmetic Dermatology, Plastic Surgery & Laser Institute, we utilize all of the most efficient and most comfortable treatment systems, including the adjustable “frozen air cooling system,” which maximizes patient comfort by chilling the treatment area. A local anesthetic may be recommended for sensitive treatment areas or younger patients.

Plastic Surgery: The Subprime Mortgage Crisis of the Body

Do you want to lose weight?

In her book American Plastic: Boob Jobs, Credit Cards, and Our Quest for Perfection (, Laurie Essig tells the riveting story of how cosmetic surgery and plastic money melted together to create a subprime mortgage crisis of the body.

Plastic surgery has become “the answer” for many Americans, and in American Plastic sociologist Laurie Essig explores how we arrived at this particular solution. Over the last decade there has been a 465 percent increase in cosmetic work, and we now spend over billion annually on procedures like liposuction, face-lifts, tummy tucks, and boob jobs. In this fascinating book, Essig argues that this transformation is the result of massive shifts in both our culture and our economy—a perfect storm of greed, desire, and technology.

Plastic is crucial to who we are as Americans, Essig observes. We not only pioneered plastic money but lead the world in our willingness to use it. It’s estimated that 30 percent of plastic surgery patients earn less than ,000 a year; another 41 percent earn less than ,000. And since the average cost of cosmetic work is ,000, a staggering 85 percent of patients assume debt to get work done. Using plastic surgery as a lens on better understanding our society, Essig shows how access to credit, medical advances, and the pressures from an image- and youth-obsessed culture have led to an unprecedented desire to “fix” ourselves.
